• Parking at Sunrise Apartments has been a long-term problem and presents residents, trades and emergency services with access issues when vehicle are parked illegally or improperly.  During the Remedial Works program which finished for the time being late last year the Owners Corporation “turned a blind eye” to the parking issues as management simply became untenable with the large number of vehicles coming on site for short periods.

There are no large scale Remedial Works being undertaken at present and the parking habits of a number of inconsiderate Owners, Tenants and others is again presenting access issues.

Accordingly, the Owners Corporation will now be taking action directly against all non-Residents who park vehicles illegally on-site – specifically towing the illegally parked vehicle to a storage site.  Release of the vehicle will only be allowed on payment of all towing, storage and re-delivery costs which are generally $750 to $1,000.  It should also be noted that towing companies only hold unclaimed vehicles for about 3 months and then, through appropriate processes, either sell them or send them to wreckers, to recover their costs and release storage space.  Our towing companies work 24/7 so some illegally parked vehicles may be towed overnight.

Lot Owners will be issued with a Notice to Comply with the specific By-law breached.  A breach by a Tenant will also result in the Lot Owner receiving a Notice to Comply.  If the Parking breaches continue the matter will be referred to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) which are able to issue the Owner with a penalty of up to $1,100.  In the event that a further breach occurs in the next 12 months the Owners Corporation will refer the matter back to NCAT which may then result in the Owner receiving a penalty of up to $2,200.
