• The Queanbeyan Palerang Regional Council (QPRC) have advised that they have acquired new radio based water meter equipment that they are testing.  This comes after a 13 year saga where the Sunrise developer was required to install equipment that QPRC had purchased and was subsequently deemed “not fit for purpose” in certain buildings.  Sunrise, essentially being a concrete monolith has many apartments where the meters cannot be read.

QPRC are now trialling the new meters and will require access to some apartments to switch oot the existing equipment and install the new equipment.  The equipment is normally in a lower kitchen cupboard.

The changeover is being undertaken at no cost to Owners.

Owners and residents are asked, if contacted by the QPRC, to assist by providing Council officers with access to apartments for meter changeovers.  The program of changeover has not been advised; however, it is understood that around 20 apartments are affected.
